2009年8月23日 · I've read various places that the Russion 6P15P-EV tube is an acceptable substitute for an EL84. Frankly, I never thought to bother rolling with other tubes with my RM10. The RM10, as with all of RMs products, is thought-out and optimized to the Nth degree.

2012年12月24日 · I've used 6P15P-EV too, and for fun I've wired the suppressor grid to the cathode (pin 1 to pin 6) with a piece of wire soldered directly on the pins, snug to the envelope of the tube. Last edited: Dec 24, 2012

2022年6月25日 · Reviving this old thread , confirming the last data. Because I could get an octet new 6p15p-ev for the price of one new 6p14p-ev , I adapted an audionote el84 pp board to fit the 6p15p-ev. Modifications included adding UL connections for G2 with 240Ohm screen resistor, 180 Ohm per individual tube cathode resistor and connect pin3 and 6.

2021年5月18日 · 6P14P is the EL84 equivalent. 6P15P is slightly lighter duty, usually said to be the equivalent of an EL83 or SV83 (Svetlana made the SV83) One specific thing about the 6P15P is the suppressor grid is not internally connected to the cathode. Its not a big deal to make it work, simply fit a jumper between pins 6 and 3.

2007年1月30日 · Hi, I'm using for some time in my EL-84 integrated amp Russian tubes 6P15P-EV ( same as SV-83 i think). amp is working in triode mode, and according to some on-line info, in triode mode 6P15P-EV is identical as EL-84. but, some experts says something about some changes in the tube socket...

2006年6月10日 · today I get a couple of Russian NOS 6P15P-EB tubes. since i have EL84 integrated amp, working in triode mode, I put those tubes inside, and quite liked what i hear so far. but, the information about using 6P15P in EL84 configuration is confusing. some said it is not direct equivalent of EL84...

2011年9月19日 · The 6P14P or 6P14P-EV are the correct Russian substitutes. The 200v screen rating on 6P15P (AKA SV83) is too low for UL operation. You could modify the amp for a lower screen voltage, Svetlana Technical Bulletin 29 if you really wanted to use the 6P15P-EV

2018年8月10日 · Resurrecting an old thread. One of the Sovtek EL84M tubes I have is noisy, squealing quietly during warmup. This quad does not have many hours on it. Disappointed. This 6p14p-EV sounds like a robust tube. The amp (pilot 602) runs them pretty hot, I think. However, 6p14p-EV tubes do not seem to be sold out of regular channels/retailers.

At that point I owned a decent collection of EL84 tubes collected over the years, unfortunately the internal configuration of EL84's doesn't benefit from this mod as its suppressor grid isn't separated internally. I had ordered some inexpensive 6P15P-EV's from an Ebay seller in the Ukraine. They arrived today. The difference is night and day.
