An Arabic proverb says of a rich man: “His house stands on twelve pillars.” Considering the restrictions of space in ancient Israel’s cit­ies, seven supporting pillars points to an exceptionally large, grand, and stately structure . . . 3. That is, the meaning of the seven pillars is that the house of wisdom is an elegant and large mansion.

There were sacred pillars or sacred stones at the high places (2 Kings 17:8-12; 2 Kings 18:4). These appear to be carved pillars of the female goddess of fertility and male deities (Leviticus 26:1; Numbers 33:52).

The bronze altar was designed for animal sacrifices and the laver was for washing. They were located in the outer courtyard (Exodus 40:6-7). The courtyard surrounded the tabernacle (Ex. 40:8). The gold lampstand, the table of showbread, and the gold altar of incense were located inside the Holy Place.

A better interpretation of Genesis 1:6-8 is that raqia refers to an expanse that separated a gaseous body of airborne humidified air or humidified vapor from water in a liquid state. 7 Genesis 1:6-8 simply refers to a body of uncondensed humidified air that surrounded a body of liquified water since land did not appear until later in Genesis 1: ...

Wisdom is personified in Proverbs 1:20-33; 3:14-18; 4:7-8; 8:1-36 and 9:1-6 as a woman. There are several grammatical reasons. The first is the Hebrew word as wisdom is feminine. The second is the third person singular pronoun was intentionally used in Proverbs 1:20-21. That reinforces the point that that is to be understood as “woman.”

The believers in that church were sharing the gospel. As a result, they were being persecuted. We will also learn they shared the gospel as they looked forward to the second coming of Christ. Then in Genesis 19:13, the angels told Lot that God was going to destroy Sodom because because their outcry was so great. This reveals two things. First, there are degrees of sin and degrees of punishment. The sin of Sodom was exceedingly great. That is, the sin of homosexuality is exceedingly great (Genesis 19:3-11; Jude 7).
