2010年9月22日 · Make sure you use a zinc additive or high zinc oil, which the only brand avaliable that i know of is valvoline race oil, I usually use Castrol 20W50 Conventional oil with a Zinc additive. using a zinc additive is a double edged sword, you use to much and it will do the opposite of what you intended.

2006年6月18日 · Found a 3/4 ton Ford pickup with a 460 engine. It has about 200,000 miles on it and still runs fine. What oil does this engine take? I think for the 80's versions it was 5W-30 or 10W-30. For the longest time the preferred oil was 10W40. That's what I always used on mine. SL 10-40. I would think 70s 10W-40, mid 80s up 5W-30.

2003年9月12日 · Big Block V8 - 385 Series (6.1/370, 7.0/429, 7.5/460) - 460 oil weight and capacity - I just purchased a 1987 F350 which has a 460 in it. Can anyone tell me the oil capacity with a fluid and filter change.

2012年10月17日 · I have heard you don't want to switch oil types with high miles on an engine, as you will have carbon deposits built up. Fully synthetic oil is a higher detergent oil that can cause some of the deposits to break up, and possibly plug a hole, or end up somewhere you don't want it.

2010年5月5日 · The reason I suggest a 10w-30 HDEO is that it's in grade, plus the extra add-pack might get you enough oil life to have one OCI per year, depending upon your service factor. These engines will last a long time if you care for them with just good routine maintenance. 3-5k mile OCIs will be fine.
