70 Cm band MUST READ!! - WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2012年2月10日 · who are not familiar with the 70 Cm band it is heavily used by hams. There are/were many hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on radio equipment that is only useful on this band including worldwide networks of repeaters that allowed the average HAM to talk worldwide using a small amount of power. This is all gone now.
70cm simplex freq - WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2014年7月3日 · The beauty of 70cm is that it's a rather large band with fewer users, that is, less crowded than 2m. My wife and I use 70cm simplex a lot. I also use it as a link to my cross-band repeater mobile radio. There certainly are some band plans around for 70cm. Basically just stay away from satellite and repeater sub bands and you'll be fine.
2m and 70cm base set up | WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2011年6月10日 · I put one up for a fellow Ham and with his 50 watt rig he can work repeaters over 100 miles away. Not bad for a $69 Dual Band antenna including shipping here. These antennas are really made by Diamond for Jetstream. And the Yaesu FT-2900 is a great low priced 75 watt rig. The Yaesu FT-7800/7900's are very good Dual band rigs.
What is better, one dual band 2m/70cm antenna or two singles?
2013年11月6日 · The antennas I'm looking at are the Larsen NMO-2/70C for a dual band antenna. For the single bands I like the Larsen NMO-440C with a NMO-150BHW. Here is how I'm judging each antenna system. One dual band antenna has the positives of simpler install, less expensive and half the mount seals to leak.
Can any 2m/70cm antenna be tuned to GMRS 462MHz?
2005年4月6日 · It seems to me that tuning an antenna is just a function of cutting it to length to match the frequency desired, and generally the higher the frequency the shorter the antenna is. So based on that, I’d like to ask: can ANY and ALL 2m/70cm band antennas be shortened to perform well with GMRS on...
2 Meter - 70cm Super J-Pole | WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2011年2月23日 · I just built on and got it installed last weekend. Works great! Have a 1.1 to 1.4 match across both bands (2m & 70cm). Got the plans for it here: Copper Cactus J pole antenna - 2 metter 70 Cm dualband By the way, I left 1 1/4" between the tuning section between the 57 1/2" and 38" lengths of copper. It works great!
tune a dual band antenna | WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2005年8月5日 · Tuning a dual band antenna isn't difficult ~electrically!. Mechanically, it's a different story! Basically, it amounts to adjusting the length of the lowest frequency antenna, then adjusting the length of the higher frequency antenna. (That means adjusting above the coil for the higher band, below the coil for the lower band.)
A 2m/70cm vertical dipole DIY - WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2008年12月18日 · A local friend that I told about this antenna project built it today. Took him 45 minutes and cost him $12. Instead of using stainless steel for the elements, he used brass. He also tightened up the gap between the 2m/70cm sections seen in these pictures; the pics were taken before he corrected them. Nice job, Wayne! Here are the pics:
Best Mobile AND Best Base antenna for 2m - WorldwideDX Radio …
2005年12月12日 · Don't know if it the "Best" 2 meter mobile but the Larsen nmo 2/70 has always been a well performing mobile antenna. Comet and Diamond make some jumbo high gain mobile antennas but sometimes they don't hold up as well with mobile abuse.. I have limited experience with 2 meter only mobile antennas.. I have always run dual & tri band models.
GMRS mobiles? - WorldwideDX Radio Forum
2006年1月22日 · The FRS/GMRS frequencies are right next to the 70cm ham band. And will behave pretty much the same. Flat terrain tends to offer better range than lumpy terrain. If you have used 70cm radios in your "foothills" neighborhood, you already know what to expect. The higher the base antenna, the fewer shadows you'll have when you're behind higher terrain.
