In general, staying with close model year to what you have, the output shaft and tailhousing can be swapped between different 727 transmissions.

But be aware that the splines on the tailshaft change in 75, so if your donor trans is earlier, you may have to swap the planetary and rear drum parts.

But it depends on if it has the log or short tail shaft! If it has the short shaft you'll have to change to the long one! BTW it should have a 4 gear planetary in it which is a good thing!
