The Boeing 747-400 is a large, long-range wide-body airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, an advanced variant of the initial Boeing 747.

The 747-400ER is an increased gross weight derivative of the 747-400 that allows it to carry additional fuel for longer ranges. This variant can be equipped with up to two 3,060 USG fuel tanks in the forward lower cargo compartment, and has a higher take-off weight of 910,000lbs, which is an increase of 35,000lbs over existing 747-400s.
