75dB channel levels. Why? | Audioholics Home Theater Forums
2007年2月12日 · The test tone used for calibration in a receiver has an average level of -30 dB which means it is 30 dB below full scale digital (0dB). Not coincidentallly, the average level of the soundtrack of a movie on DVD is -31 dB. Playing that tone and calibrating so that the channel levels read 75 dB on the SPL meter gives you reference level (75+30=105).
Why 75db - Audioholics Home Theater Forums
2012年6月26日 · As a typical movie soundtrack has an average level of -30 dBFS and the receiver's test tones are also at that level, you want the SPL meter to show 75 dB: 75 + 30 = 105 dB = reference level. Keep in mind that a source with a much higher average level, for example CD, will be MUCH louder at the same volume setting.
How to properly set channel level (and how that relates to overall ...
2011年3月5日 · If the receiver has an auto setup routine that should be run first as it will attempt to get it right for you; if not, then you need an SPL meter set to slow response and 'C' weighting and the receiver's test tones. You adjust the levels of each channel until the meter reads 75 dB. You can't really do it accurately by ear alone.
Speaker leveling with spl meter - Audioholics Home Theater Forums
2017年1月13日 · 75 db 1 meter (3.28 feet) is 72 db at main seat ear level. That means my peak is approximately 92 db at my ears in the main seat and 95 db at 1 meter from the speaker. My speakers 1 watt sensitivity is 91 db one channel driven. That means a lot since now I know I’m using basically 2 watts for 92 db peak at ear height 8.5 feet from one speaker.
Setting subwoofer level? - Audioholics Home Theater Forums
2018年7月5日 · Hi, I have a question about how to properly set the subwoofer level in an AVR using Audyssey. You adjust the channel levels until the meter reads your target SPL, which should be 75 dB if you are using the internal test tones of the receiver.

Anthem AVM70 ARC G too Loud in Calibration Process
2023年5月3日 · Ir only takes a speaker with low sensitivity of say, 85 dB/2.83V/m, 8 ohm nominal, 4 W to produce 85 dB at 4 meters, or 8 W for 91 dB. 85 dB for the calibration tone is 10 dB higher than Audyssey's, and I think Anthem should lower it to 75 dB, or 80 dB at the most, without sacrificing accuracy.
How loud is your sub? | Audioholics Home Theater Forums
2011年7月4日 · I think from the listening position I level matched all my speakers to 75 db, and then when it came to the sub, I set it to 75 db average (because it jumps around a lot on the meter). I went to IMAX last night for the new Transformers and there is no way that the sub volume is level matched to the speaker volume.
