2012年5月31日 · The ’79 RM400-N was a significant redesign from the ‘78 RM400-C model it replaced. The frame was all new and featured a steeper steering-head angle and shorter wheelbase for improved turning. The all-new extruded box-section aluminum swingarm positioned the shocks further back to change the lever ratio and increase rear travel.

2007年2月14日 · My 79 RM400N was a decent bike to jump but you did have to keep your weight back a little. It wasn't that big of a deal and overall, it never bothered me. I wouldn't recomend cutting the frame, the bike handles nice. I've read the Dirt Bike review and they didn't mention that mod in that article. They did say that for the CR125 the were testing.

2016年5月26日 · "Yes", you can consider a '79 RM400 to be a "big bore", "just about" any 2 stroke bigger than a 250 is considered a big bore. I would be willing to bet that you are running VERY lean when you are trying to start it up cold. After you kick it 30 or 40 times you'll eventually pull enough fuel into the cylinder and fire it up.
