2024年7月19日 · A pig was chosen as 7RAR’s mascot when its first commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Eric Smith, allegedly called the soldiers a “mob of pigs” after they trashed their lines during a long weekend in early 1965.
“I am confident that the soldiers and officers who have served in the "Pig Battalion" and who go on to reinforce adjacent battalions will continue to benefit from their enduring connection to the 7 RAR Association. We believe this donation is a fitting way to honour our legacy and support the future generations of veterans from 7 RAR.”
