The 821st SPTS is comprised of seven flights, which support the infrastructure, facilities, and day-to-day operations for Pituffik Space Base. The Communications Flight oversees contractors who provide base communications, a Local Area Network and BMEWS radar computer support.

2023年4月6日 · Pituffik SB, the DoD's northernmost installation, is operated by the 821st Space Base Group and part of Space Base Delta 1. Pituffik SB exists today due to agreements between the United States and the Kingdom of Denmark, specifically addressing mutual defense. Strategically, Pituffik SB’s “Top of the World” vantage point enables Space Superiority.

821st SBG operates the DoD's northernmost installation and is also the world's northernmost deep-water Seaport and provides a unique platform for artic training, international scientific research and environmental programs.

2013年7月30日 · The 821st SPTS is one of the 21st Space Wing’s 23 geographically separated units, and supports Thule’s missile warning, missile defense, space surveillance and satellite command and control missions through engineering, communications, medical, logistical, air field, services and personnel support.
