How loud is 85 db? - HomeRecording.com
2004年1月22日 · Secondly, 85dB is typically suggested as a good level because it is at THAT level that the human ear response is the most flat across the audio frequency spectrum. It IS a good idea to check mixes at different levels once you've got the mix in the ballpark, but it's very important not to vary the levels while you're analyzing and setting-up ...

What is the purpose of a 1khz reference tone and how do you use it?
2013年6月18日 · Thanks for the reply again sir. No, I mean it in reference to calibrating your monitoring/recording setup in a DAW. I don't really get what the purpose is. I read an article here about recording and using one recorded at -6db through your D/A converters used to monitor the mix. Something about 85db and a C weight.
TASCAM Porta Two HS ...or... Yamaha MT4X - HomeRecording.com
2007年3月17日 · The Yamaha MT4X specs are 40Hz~18kHz freq. resp. w/dbx OFF & 85db SNR with dbx on. That's the basic range of all Portastudios and clones, alike, and there's nothing in the specs stating clearly that the Yamaha MT4X would be an "upgrade" from the Tascam Porta Two, based on fidelity alone. It often gets more down to features than sound. [IMO/YMMV].

2025年1月27日 · OK, best to keep things balanced so, back of envelope? Assuming a mic Z of 150R a 560R in each 'leg' followed by a 1k shunt gives 9.85dB of loss. Call it 10dB for jazz? That also assumes a mic pre Zin of 1.5k Dave.
Mixes are too Bass-Heavy | HomeRecording.com
2000年10月23日 · Sorry to disagree but according to Fletcher-Munson 85db is the flattest volume to our ears. If you mix louder you will be bass light, lower bass heavy. The loudness switch was invented to compensate for the ear at low levels by boosting the bass and the highs.

2008年1月26日 · i never heard behringer sound bad per many posters, on the monitors, maybe the best thing they copied and built...but how long they last or how much 85db they can take is another story... performance and hard use is another "quality" issue higher dollar components hold up to....thats a side of high end most casual home studios don't need to ...

JBL LSR305- Clicking/popping, please help scared I am damaging …
2018年6月4日 · With a meter, the maximum I am listening on average is 85dB with some peaks into 89-90dB, but this is when I want to check something louder- usually I am around 80dB Max on average when mixing. I don't think it is the fault of the speakers, I think it was mine trying to push too much from them.
