It became popular due to regulations around .303 as a military cartridge back in the day.

2023年11月27日 · These 208 gr FMJ's are the same bullet that PPU uses in their new production 8x56r ammunition. The bore diameter is the same between 8x50r and 8x56r (.330"). The original cast lead 8x50r used (I believe) a .323" diameter bullet, but it had a hollow base that would obturate (expand) to the .330" bore diameter.

2020年12月14日 · The 8x56R is just an upsized 8x50R (longer shoulder at a shallower angle) and a larger neck diameter (for the .330 instead of a .323 bullet). CH4D makes a die set for 8x50R, and I think RCBS too. Just pop in the deprimed 8x56R ( without the neck sizer insert, because the resulting case will be 6mm too long), then just size the neck up to .330.

2017年12月3日 · Man, that's a toughie. 8x50r Mannlicher tends to be a reloaders only cartridge since no one manufactures it any more. I did some targeted searching and came up with these guys, I've never used them so I'm not sure how good they are. The only other option is to get some dies and brass and roll your own.

Honestly, selling more common ammo with your line of rarer ammo could encourage bulk orders. As you are waiting on components, you can still keep a product line rolling. I thoroughly enjoy upstart businesses. Best yet, it's saving my favorite hobby.

2023年2月23日 · Same bullet for the 8x50R. In my case I bought the brass cases before I bought the bullets and the rifle. (Found a great condition carbine for $200 at gun show.) Cases were PPU and one batch was made of reworked 45-70 brass. Both work well. My recollection is that they are bigger at the base than 7.62 Russian.

2020年9月25日 · I just bought a low serial number steyr m95, 43xxV. My research told me it shoots 8x50mmR, but it feeds 8x56mmR. Does this mean i have the right ammo? Meaning the 8x56. No markings on the gun other than what is shown and serial number.

Depending on the bore diameter and the bullet itself, possibly. Both of my 8x50r M95's slugged .330" on the bore, so they shoot awesome with my hand loads using the .330" PPU 208's. The original 8x50r cartridge used a .323" hollow base bullet, so the base would expand to the .330" bore, but idk of anyone casting bullets like that for 8x50r.

2015年1月18日 · do you know a place on the internet where I can find some 8x50r mannlicher cause buffalo arms has all the stuff for reloading but I am new and don't feel confident about my handy work. I am of coarse gonna have it inspected first.
