2003年5月16日 · A V8 will raise the center of gravity a little but not enough to make much difference. Urban myth. Stiffer springs in the rear are a must (I ran 200# springs) but there's no reason why a V8 914 won't handle as well as a stock 914 if set up right.

2004年3月4日 · But while considering a 6 for my next 914 project I came across some info on 350 chevy conversions - I don't really like the idea BUT I started thinking (and searching the net) why isn't anyone doing Ford V8 conversions as in Hipo 289 w/ cobra heads, high revving type engines that went into early GT40s and won LeMans (351,427) and beat Farrari.

the way a toyota engine fits in an mr2 has nothing to do with a v8 powered 914 with auto trans my point was the fwd cadallic auto trans mission may be an option for a ls engine in a 914 or the northstar and trans might work out well too yhe northstar is a pretty small engine making 300 plus hp stock jerry _____

My exsperience is first, research the field. Set an objective, keeping realistic goal's in mind, based on the finances that will go into it.

Dave is quite right about the gearing--Porsche doesn't even make a tall enough gear for the 914's gearbox that allows happy V8 freeway cruising. So a number of people will take something like an "H" gear and run it "backwards", flipping the drive gear and driven gear to the other shafts.

When I ran electric guages in my first rotary 914 (we have temp issues like you V8 guys) I eventually discovered that all my guages readings were affected by high amperage devices coming on,, causing the voltage of the entire system to vary just enough to throw the guage off.

2003年9月14日 · The 930 box is a tail shifter in that the shift rod would come in from the back in a mid engine set up. Scott Mann from renegade hybrids has a 930 box in his V8 914, he should be able to answer any questions, Brad Roberts can too.

1972 Porsche 914 V8 cover car for the January 2010 issue of Retro cars magazine, entitled Concealed Weapon. This car was built to look like a 914/6 GT….pure and simple. The car started life as a sunburst yellow life-long California 1972 914 with a 1.7 litre engine. Note the car still retains its original blue California license plate.
