The Mercedes-Benz 500 E (1990–1993; 1993–1995 sold as E 500; type W124.036) is a high-performance version of the W124 sold by Mercedes-Benz from 1990 to 1995. The 500 E was created in close cooperation with Porsche.

Introduced for the 1992 model year, the 500 E was part of the W124 Sedan, and was a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. As Mercedes were entirely focused on their new S-Class, they hired Porsche to accomodate a 5.0L V8 engine in the front of the car as well as tune the chassis to be able to handle the increased power.
