The 9S18M “Kupol-M” (Cyrillic: «Купол-М»; NATO designation: “Snow Drift”) is a mobile 3-D acquisition radar operating frequency agile in the S band (IEEE designation) or in the F band (NATO designation). The radar uses a rectangular phased array antenna with mechanical rotation in azimuth and an electronically steered pencil beam in elevation.

The 9S18 “Kupol” (also designated 1RL135, Cyrillic: 9С18 "Купол-М" or 1РЛ135; NATO designation: “Tube Arm”) is operating in the F band fully coherent, mobile 3D target assignment radar for the 9K37 “Buk” («Бук», NATO designation: SA-11 “Gadfly”) air defense missile system.

With a transmitter peak power rating cited between 1.23 MegaWatts and 350 kiloWatts, the manufacturer claims the ability to detect a 0.1 square metre RCS target at 300 ft AGL out to 24.8 nautical miles, and at medium to high altitudes to 94.5 nautical miles. Clutter rejection is claimed to exceed 48 dB, and the system can track 100 targets.
