According to this description 9S would tend to surpass and overcome the basic "human" instinct, which for the machines are the primary goal as they want to be as similar as possible to humans. Nines instead goes beyond primary instinct, and takes on more complex traits.

For weapons, most of them will probably work fine so long as you upgrade them.
