YoRHa No.9 Type S, or just 9S, is one of the protagonists of NieR:Automata. He is the main character of Branches B and D, as well as one of the main antagonists and final boss of Branch C. 9S is a scanner-type android who served during the 14th Machine War.

Cruel Oath is a weapon in NieR:Automata, and 9S's signature blade. The small sword is part of a set, which also includes Cruel Blood Oath, Cruel Arrogance, and Cruel Lament.

For 9S, each set is 1 weapon, since his Hacking takes the place of his second weapon. Your 2 weapons are bound to Square and Triangle buttons (X and Y on XBox controllers) respectively. You can assign the weapons in your weapon sets from the Weapons menu tab and in combat, you can press Up on the D-pad to swap your sets.

2023年1月6日 · Cruel Blood Oath is the larger version of Cruel Oath. It has the same abilities as its predecessor, it increases your attack speed, and with Dark Impulse, it will increase your damage output when your health is below 30%. Large Swords have the highest damage output out of all the Weapon types, but their attack speed is also the slowest.

If you learn proper spacing, his heavy combo with small swords is absolutely devastating dps-wise. Unlike 2B and A2, his perfect dodge small sword counter won't launch him into the air which makes it far superior in my opinion as it won't break the flow of combat.

Out of all the characters, 9S tends to fare the best with the Spear of the Usurper. Its long-range attacks, coupled with its critical damage potential and “Turncoat,” allows you to make quick work of mobs and bosses alike.
