The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-turbofan, straight-wing, subsonic attack aircraft developed by Fairchild Republic for the United States Air Force (USAF). Although its official name comes from the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, a World War II fighter that proved effective in the close air support role, the A-10 has also become affectionately known as the “Warthog.”

ACES is an acronym for Advanced Concept Ejection Seat. It is used in Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, Rockwell B-1 Lancer, WB-57, Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit, and Mitsubishi F-2 aircraft.

2021年3月18日 · One experimental two-seat A-10 Night Adverse Weather (N/AW) version was built by converting an A-10A. The N/AW was developed by Fairchild from the first Demonstration Testing and Evaluation (DT&E) A-10 for consideration by the USAF.

To save all of you alot of time, I edited his thesis down to - there was a two seat A-10, nobody bought it. 1. The A-10B only came about only after the N/AW program failed and the N/AW itself was a cover for an attempt by Fairchild to bring smart systems (and more powerful dry F404 engines) to the airframe to make it exportable.

This IE-series seat is one of the more advanced seats due to the addition of the underseat STAPAC rocket for resisting pitch excursion. This rocket is mounted in the back rear of the seat and uses a gas generator to spin up a gyroscope.
