1998 Eye Chart is an eye color diagram from a 1998 doll catalog in which eye colors ranging from light blue to dark brown are assigned individual designations from A10 to T50. In June 2019, a 4chan user created a pseudoscientific "eye caste system" based on the chart, which went viral on iFunny in February 2021 where it inspired memes and parodies.

Jun 2, 2021 · The real-time-bird eye AF on the Sony a1 is a lot better than I was expecting it to be. With the vast majority of birds, it does a frankly incredible job of finding an eye within the entire frame and locking onto it wherever the bird moves.

Jun 9, 2021 · What is everyone's experience shooting the A1 and Eye AF? For me I find it nails the iris about 25% of the time and is more likely to focus on the eyelash or eyebrow. Wondering if this is expected behavior or if improvements can be expected in firmware. Also if anyone has experience with how this compares to the Canon R5 please let me know.

Earlier implementations were not always reliable, but then it improved, making portrait shooting much easier. With camera software becoming more and more sophisticated, it was only natural to see this feature evolve to recognise animals as well.
