Feb 16, 2018 · The serum A1C at the lab is the gold standard. There are fingerstick A1C kits a CVS for about $20. IMO those tend to be a bit lower than blood draw at lab. The Dexcom A1C is computed so it's an estimate not a true A1C and the Dexcom is not as accurate as your fingerstick meter readings everybody agrees on that I think.
