The light tank Mk VIII (A25), also known as the Harry Hopkins, after American President Roosevelt's chief diplomatic advisor, and A25 from its General staff specification number, was a British light tank produced by Vickers-Armstrong during the Second World War.

The Tank, Light, Mk VIII (A25), better known as "Harry Hopkins", was a British light tank made in just 100 vehicles by Vickers-Armstrong specifically for airborne operations. It was also the very last of the long line of British light tanks and successor to the Mk VII Tetrarch .

It was called the Harry Hopkins after the advisor to President Roosevelt, and was originally known as Tank, Light Mark VII, revised. Like its predecessors, the A25 was smaller, more vulnerable and less reliable than the opposition’s tanks.

History of the Mk VIII (A25) Light Tank (Harry Hopkins) In order to better equip British light tank regiments before World War II (1939-1945), the army authorities invested in the Mk VII "Tetraarch" light tank.
