Aircraft Guide: Which 738 / 737-800 version, or 7M8 / 737 MAX 8 ...
738 is two class, and many, not all, have seatback IFE. The 737-8 MAX will have onboard Internet server with IFE streamed via WiFi; narrowbodies without seatback IFE will pretty much have this. Those with seatback IFE will still have it. Your JFK-SAN 738 will either have or not have seatback IFE, and it's not predictable.

738 Business Class? - FlyerTalk Forums
2003年2月5日 · AA uses the 737's on some long routes, so I generally upgrade. Other than the 777, AA's 737-800 is my favorite airplane, with a roomy F cabin. The term Business Class is applied to 738 flights to/from Mexico and Canada, but it otherwise identical to domestic F.
Unrefitted 738 / 737 pre-Oasis, non-MAX MCE / Main Cabin
2012年12月24日 · AA has stored some 752s, including aircraft that are only 20 years old. The 738 is cheaper to operate.
