An implementation of Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC) methods in the R language is avail-able in the package abcwith associated example data sets in the abc.datapackage. The aim of this vignette is to provide an extended overview of the capabilities of the package, with a detailed example of the analysis of real data.

ABC/R v2 (2018) saw new surface texture (AA, or All Angles), reliability and compatibility tweaks for thicker upper receivers. V3 (2020) which replaces v2 incorporates feedback and input from users, as well as improvements we developed to make what is already probably the best AR/M16 bolt catch better.

ABC/R's lower paddle is angled and protrudes further laterally, easily separating itself from the ambidextrous magazine catch's release paddle. It enables the user to identify and differentiate these two different components by feel, without a visual.

ABC/R (Augmented Bolt Catch/Release) with its angled and larger top paddle and lower paddle with increased surface area, is purpose designed for use with AR15/M16 receivers equipped with ambidextrous magazine releases.
