The advanced boiling water reactor (ABWR) is a Generation III boiling water reactor. The ABWR is currently offered by GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) and Toshiba.
The main feature of ABWR RRS is to adopt reactor internal pumps (PIRs), which eliminates conventional external loops consisting of the external recirculation pumps, large diameter pipes and internal jet pumps.
