2007年6月18日 · I run the AD8397 in a breadboard with long wires sticking out various places and it's not oscillating. The PINT had problems with oscillation for reasons including having half of the second chip servicing DC at the input ground and the other half servicing the output ground whilst both ran at unity gain, in addition to a problematic feedback configuration on the output ground.

2005年11月1日 · For the AD8397, they're using 0.7 mil diameter wire which yields a cross-section of 0.385 sq. mils - I'm not sure what kind of wire they're using, but it would be gold, copper, or aluminum. So the PCB trace on the adapter has a cross-section over 28 times greater than the die bonding wire.

2003年8月3日 · Plugging the values from Tangent's Cranky Opamp guide and the AD8397's datasheet into Tangent's offset calculator, even using an input cap, DC offset ranges from 33mV (for typical performance values) to well over 100mV for max values. This is with a 10K pot, R2=100K, R3=120K, R4=470K.

2013年6月26日 · Apples and oranges. The point is, the AD8397 is a superior opamp in every way. More - it's quite tricky to design a circuit and PCB layout to get the AD8397 to run stable. I was simply pointing out that it just seemed the focus of the thread is - no offense - gutting the amp.

2005年3月13日 · In a simple CMOY (12v or 18.5v, I have two PSUs), what is the difference in sound between these chips? Has anyone compared? I need high current. AD8397 is hard to deal with, so I am thinking about OPA552 (gain =11). But sound alawys comes first! Thanks.

2007年2月25日 · I was comparing it to the Sudgen Headmaster which blew away the old Corda. I couldn't use the AD8397 because the Corda uses +/- 15v supplies and it is set up for single channel amps. But I have heard the AD8397 in various portable amps and the 552 in the Corda didn't have the slight edginess that sometimes comes with the AD8397.

2013年6月26日 · Basically the mod is as simple as it gets: open the X3 up, disconnect the battery, desolder the AD8397, solder in the AD8620, and put everything back. The goal is to remove the warmness from the AD8397 and replace it with something that sounds more neutral. AD8620 has been one of my personal favourite on portable amp, so it is my first choice.

2013年6月26日 · Consider that the AD8397 will drive 310mA into a 32 ohm load, where the 8620 is good for 30mA only, and that into an unspecified load. This is a factor of 10+ in only a single parameter, albeit quite a significant one where driving low impedances is concerned.
