2006年12月28日 · In 1960, AEC had developed a new chassis for export called the Mark VI. It had the larger 690 engine, air suspension, power assisted steering and a fully automatic box. These were ordered by the MMTB to be bodied by Freighter Lawton in Adelaide and be 30 feet in length (they were eventually one a half inches longer).

The Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board took 100 Regal VI's with 8 ft 6 in Freighter Victoria bodies and seating for only 31 after the prolonged industrial dispute over seating capacities of one-man buses. The were nicely designed buses and reliable as well, although a little heavy on fuel.
