Evaluations have three primary purposes. 1. To establish performance standards and expectations, provide meaningful feedback on how well the rated Airman is meeting those expectations and direction on how to better meet those established standards and expectations. 2.

AF Form 77, Letter of Evaluation (LOE) Purpose. The original purpose of the AF Form 77 was to record performance when it wasn't possible to include it in an EPR. For example, if one of your troops received an assignment and he wasn't due for an EPR because he just had one, any notable achievements since the last EPR would not be recorded anywhere.

Use AF Form 77, Supplemental Evaluation Sheet, to cover gaps in performance, substi- tute for missing reports, etc. (see Chapter 4 for details). Also used in general officer evaluations
