LVTE-1: The engineering variant. It was given a large toothed V-shaped excavator blade mounted on the nose of the vehicle, that could clear its path through a minefield 3.7 m wide and up to 0.41 m deep. Plastic-foam buoyancy tanks were also fitted in the inside if the blade to keep the nose up when swimming.

2006年9月26日 · You can really tell the LVTE-1 version of the Taiwanese Marines as compared to the USMC version. Likely this is a late/converted version from LVTP-5 with bolt on launcher and plow rather than the pure LVTE-1 that came off production line that the USMC and Philippine Marines are using.
