It’s a modified magazine, at the time the m16 only came with 20 rounds 55.6 mags while the VC had aks with 30 round 7.62x39 mags. Americans who were on the ground realized the firepower discrepancy and modified flat back Ak mags to fit into their m16s.

So there will always be feeding and other issues, and an AR magazine adapted to 7.62x39 will never work as well with that cartridge as a native AK magazine.

Someone in the Southern army realized something: An AK magazine will slide into the M16... With some help. Start with a Chinese "flat-back" magazine. Mags from other countries have a spine and that spine will not allow the mag to fit. You can't take the spine off because that's what holds the magazine together.

2010年1月10日 · i have been doing research on the sog and have come across some funny m16 mag pictures, at the time they only had 20's so its either one of two things.... 1. the yards attached a ar-ak mag to get some good capacity, 20rdss on auto was like 4 burst..... 2. they were using special ak mags to work in the m16 platform....

2020年10月16日 · I'm currently using the Condor universal pistol pouch for AK47 mags. They hold US Palm and Bulgarian Steel 30round mags. One per pouch. The velcro flap has about 2.5 inches of hookage to secure it, and the mag is completely covered. There's more available velcro to secure the AK mag than on your USGI m4 pouches of the same type.

2006年6月25日 · The Stoner 63/Galil magazine is actually superior to the STANAG M16 magazine and a Galil magazine adapter for a FNC/M16 would actually make more sense IMO. 5.56 magazines are more obscure than 5.45 or 7.62 AK magazines but they are no means unavailible by comparison.
