Up for sale is an AKG CK5 capsule to convert your C451 to a vocal mic. Acoustically it's similar to a CK1. It's got an integrated windshield but I'll include an external foam too. This capsule is in good mechanical condition, works and sounds great, even on stage. Most importantly, the thread is in very good condition.

2025年1月16日 · I'm having problems with the capsule inside an AKG CK5 (it's basically a CK1 in a rubber suspension and windshield). A red plastic piece came loose from behind the backplate of the capsule. (See attached pictures, the piece used to sit within the centre of the gold coloured spring, at the back of the capsule).

The CK5 is a highly stable condenser capsule that is designed for handheld and boom-mount applications (together with the C 451 or C 452). Owing to its elastic suspension system and built-in windscreen it is insensitive to mechanical shock and handling noise.

2006年7月31日 · The CK5 has more treble than the later CK1 capsules (the ones with engraved serial numbers). But technically, what's inside the windscreen is indeed a (silver) CK1. You can unscrew the top of the windscreen, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. The capsule is inside an elastic suspension and not directly connected to the preamp.

2017年5月31日 · Summarizing; all I can say is AKG's factory supplied foam breaks down into chunks, as opposed to disintegrating into powder. You neither want to know how the foam in those EV RE16 boxes has devolved into sticky goo nor the havoc it's wreaked upon my assembled CK5 / C451EB systems.

This capsule is in good mechanical condition and works and sounds great. Cosmetically - well, it's lived a life. Engraved with a serial number from when it was owned by Britannia Row, the screen has been dented slightly and touched up with sharpie in places.
