The AMX International AMX is a ground-attack aircraft jointly developed by Brazil and Italy. The AMX is designated A-11 Ghibli by the Italian Air Force and A-1 by the Brazilian Air Force. The Italian name, "Ghibli", is taken from the hot dry wind of the Libyan desert.

Le programme ACOL (Aggionamento Capacità Operative e Logistiche) fut lancé en Italie pour moderniser ses AMX : 55 exemplaires furent concernés. Le cockpit fut modernisée, la centrale inertielle à laser remise à jour, et l'appareil peut désormais utiliser des bombes guidées JDAM. Il est même moins performant qu'un A-4.

Il programma ACOL (Aggiornamento delle Capacità Operative e Logistiche) porterà ad un miglioramento delle caratteristiche di combattimento degli AMX impiegati dall’Aeronautica Militare, estendendone la vita operativa almeno fino al 2015.

The AMX ACOL was a further upgrade which outfitted 55 AMX-11A aircraft with new avionics. These enhancements included the addition of an INS/GPS navigation system, new communication systems, IFF, and new HUD displays.
