The AOV is electrically operated and opens upon detection of smoke. It can also be fully controlled through the building management system, giving building users and managers peace of mind. AOVs can be fixed directly to the roof deck (with a minimum kerb height of 300mm, as the unit needs to be 300mm above the finished roof surface).

X-AOV is designed to be thermally efficient, as required, and resistant to wind and rain ingress. The thermally broken insulated aluminium kerbs are suitable for use above heated spaces and can provide Ud-values as low as 1.25 W/m²°K.

An AOV Smoke Vent, or Automatic Opening Ventilator, provides at least 1.0m² of free area when open. These units are designed to automatically open during a fire, allowing smoke to escape from a building. Typically installed on flat roofs, stairwells, and corridors, AOVs are activated by fire alarms or smoke detectors.

Flat roof mounted AOV Roof hatch for use in a SHEV system. Fully certified in accordance with BS EN 12101-2 with a triple skinned thermally efficient polycarbonate dome. These products are typically used at the head of protected stairwells to provide smoke and heat exhaust ventilation and keep the evacuation route clear for building occupants.

Kerb to be a minimum of 100mm wide and 150mm above the finished roof surface. The kerb should be flat and level to +/- 3mm and be constructed in such a way as to provide a solid fixing platform.

The Ventec Blade is an automatic multi-bladed smoke exhaust louvre designed with the primary function of dispersing smoke, fumes, and heat from inside buildings to the outside. It comes in a standard sizes allowing 1m 2 or 1.5m Geometric Free Area – bespoke sizes available on request. Fitted with a 24Vdc actuator.
