The AP1 is stiffer with slightly different rear suspension geometry that makes the car more unstable/snappy. The AP2 has softer spring and roll bar rates as well as a different rear subframe that changes the rear geometry and makes the car more stable. Yes the AP2 is softer, however these changes actually make the car quicker around track.

2015年2月2日 · Pretty sure there's a " best motoring" episode where they race the two cars then swap the ap2 wheels onto the ap1 and the results flip. That being said neither car is a torque monster. I guess you could argue the ap2 is a little better for day to day drive-a-billity, but at the end of the day, its a honda for the street not an f1 car.

That’s why the full version of this saying is “AP2 is the better car, AP1 is the better S2000”. The AP1 is more of a “pure” driving experience to some. No traction control, stiffer suspension, and in the beginning no clock lol.

2017年7月17日 · Off highway, AP2 doesn't work so well. I have a high risk tolerance, a background in software testing, and am happy to help train the car's software. I hit "report bug" several times per week. I've bumped a few curbs :( but that's the price of progress, I guess After driving an "old" AP1 car for about a week, I wanted to share my observations.

I think a few more months and updates AP2 will be equal to AP1. I think you mean seasons. It will be a few more seasons until AP2 is at parity with last year's version of AP1. Take AP2 off the highway and you'll really feel the difference with AP1. It'll wobble around poorly marked roads. It gets confused by turn lanes. AP1 is much smoother.

2017年1月7日 · An AP1 with AP2 wheels will go faster than one on the same tires but 16" wheels, but will still be slower than an AP2 if there are a lot of bumps. The difference at the limit however is small enough that it usually boils down to the driver more than the car.

2023年8月6日 · On the street, you'll burn through rears because RWD and because the AP1 specs a high amount of static toe. The tires are scrubbing as you go in a straight line. Street s2000 drivers that drive like normal people go through rears quickly and not fronts.

2023年4月27日 · Swapping to a softer RSB helps tame down the snappiness of the AP1 by letting the vehicle roll a tad more. So you keep both wheels on the ground I really like the Bilsteins for a street car but the H&R coilovers come with slightly better valving and springs for a square setup. They don't allow as much height adjustment either.
