The AC-Input terminal of the off-grid inverters accepts a wide range of sinusoidal voltages. The APL and UPS modes will allow a wider or narrower selection of voltages. According to the application the user has to select between APL and UPS if the generator fails to connect to the inverter as a back up.

And "APL" has a wider acceptable tolerance. For less picky appliances. Does anyone know how UPS settings on inverters actually works? I tried it on Growatt SPF 5000 ES and some Voltronic inverters.

2023年7月7日 · I was hoping it would kick over to grid when the battery voltage reached 51v in UPS mode but that didn't happen. Once I got all my screenshots, I changed the mode from UPS to APL and bang, all the power came back on. The issue appears to be that something is broken when in UPS mode that isn't broken in appliance mode.
