2021年11月16日 · I am a MS3 shooting for aviation and have been reviewing AR 40-501 to see if I need LASIK or not as my unit is telling me it must be done during winter break, and paid for out of pocket. I have correctable 20/20 vision with glasses, and fall within the accepted diopters according to the eye section, but not the vision section.

2017年1月8日 · AR 40-501 will also say the Superintendent, USMA is the waiver authority for West Point. That means, he can (and does) medically "discriminate" on who can or cannot be a cadet at West Point. It's black and white as an Army Regulation.

The MD's letter includes paragraphs to explain his position on why he recommends medical waiver.

2006年6月9日 · I did all the tests and it is benign, I'm asymptomatic, and I don't need any medication and my TSH levels are normal, but I was told I would need a medical waiver. I am frustrated because according to the Army regulation 40-501 that we go off of, there is nothing in there that says a benign thyroid nodule is a disqualifier.

2017年3月31日 · No tumors, lesions, infections, kidney stones etc. Doctor said in his final report that DODMERB now has that its a non issue and likely related to exercise and does not recommend further treatment or testing. Hematuria in itself does not seem like its a auto DQ under current AR 40-501.
