2014年9月7日 · If the barrel nut has not yet been mated to the threads on the upper, tighten to 30-35 foot pounds and then take completely off. Do this a few more times to properly mate the threads, you will be thankful you did this when you decide to take the barrel off later. After that, tighten the nut back to 35 pounds and check for gas tube alignment.

Does free floating a barrel have an affect - yupp, I have a beauty of a benchrest bolt action that has a floated forend. Does picking your rifle up have a massively far far greater effect - hell yes.

2008年6月12日 · The barrel nut was too small for the barrel. About .050” to be exact. Opened up on the lathe. Nut was hard as hell. Fixed that no problem. Problem is the spacers for timing the nutt for the gas tube wouldn’t work either. No way to fix that. Nut timed at 35 ft lbs and the fit between the barrel and receiver was sloppy. Very sloppy.

2020年10月20日 · With a "Govt" profile barrel at 10 rounds a minute continuously, in 280 rounds, the area right behind in between the breech swell and the front sight will stabilize at about 500 degrees F. At 1 round per second, after 300 rounds that area will get to about 1,200 degrees F and and keep climbing if you continue to shoot.

2023年11月16日 · Someone should make an M-lok/ARCA AR-15 lower in the same vein as that Springfield Armory rifle with the extendo fore-end lower, and someone should make 316 or 416 Stainless press-fit uppers to go onto said lowers if you want to keep AR-15 commonality for small parts but use the rifle for pure precision.

2019年8月11日 · Loctite 609 is what barrel maker Criterion reccomends. There are other compounds that may work but the Loctite slip fit retaining compounds expand during cure to take up the difference between inner receiver and outer barrel extension diameters (whithin reason and according to product specifications).
