From Virginia Beach , Arp 277 is visible in the morning sky, becoming accessible around 22:20, when it reaches an altitude of 21° above your eastern horizon. It will then reach its highest point in the sky at 02:38, 55° above your southern horizon. It will be lost to dawn twilight around 06:15, 29° above your western horizon.

2024年11月7日 · NGC 470/474 –Arp 277 / VV 948 and NGC 467 in Pisces: An interesting triplet to be sure. 474 and 467 are shell galaxies, which are fairly uncommon, so it’s unusual to have two in the same narrow FOV. Shell galaxies result when a galaxy ingests another, with the interaction flinging stars out into a ring.
