The ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) is a patient-centric credentialing agency that elevates laboratory professionals through rigorous examinations, tailored to today’s laboratory medicine and pathology practice models.

In recognition of the foreign educated and trained laboratory professionals who are working in the United States, the ASCP Board of Certification now offers a formal process for International MLS(ASCP i) certificants to transition their credential to MLS(ASCP) through a new U.S. certification route.

The MB(ASCP) and MB(ASCPi) certification examinations are composed of 100 questions given in a 2 hour 30 minute time frame. All exam questions are multiple-choice with one best answer. The certification exam is administered using the format of computer adaptive testing (CAT).

MB (ASCP) technologist certificate is for technologists who use molecular diagnostic techniques to characterize and detect inherited and acquired diseases, including, infectious diseases, metabolic and malignant. Lab Operations: 15 – 20%. BOC ASCP describes 4 routes with lab experience for MB ASCP and 5 routes with lab experience for MB ASCPi.

2023年6月23日 · For all educational levels, the professional certification for microbiologists and molecular biologists is available through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), which offers the M(ASCP) credential for microbiologists and the MB(ASCP) credential for molecular biologists.

You may begin using the MB(ASCP) credential immediately. However, primary source verification of your ASCP certification will continue to show MP(ASCP) certification until the transition process is completed by the end of 2022. Molecular Biologist, MB(ASCP) is equivalent to Molecular Pathologist, MP(ASCP).
