2021年5月14日 · ASL comes from LSF (French Sign language) so it's easier to understand them than British. Like others have said, even the alphabet is completely different. In my opinion, the signs for "deaf" and "hearing" look swapped.

2021年8月22日 · The fingerspelling, numbers and the way the language is structured. Fingerspelling for BSL is 2 handed, and ASL is one handed. Numbers are just different. And BSL feels made off a hearing persons dictionary, where ASL I find is more flexible with fewer signs.

However I'm moving to the UK to live there for the next 4 years (for university) and I'm not too sure if it's worth continuing ASL or if I should switch to BSL and join the BSL community at university to learn a lot more.

2020年2月28日 · I can speak about BSL vs SSE. BSL is its own unique language used by Deaf people and Deaf culture and communities. With its unique grammar, it is not directly comparable to English. SSE is often used by deaf, non-verbal or hard of hearing individuals. It’s especially useful for people with English as their first language.
