ATSF Train No. 15 Description: A pair of one-year-old Santa Fe U28CG units were on train No. 15, the southbound TEXAS CHIEF en route from Chicago to Fort Worth and Houston, as seen from No. 116, the Dallas-Gainesville section of the northbound train, at Dalton Junction, 25 miles south of Gainesville.

Many of the early GE locomotives had an empty space directly behind the cab called a steam generator room - or so I've heard from an old-timer. Decorated in passenger red and silver and carrying ATSF roadnumber 350, this c-truck boat appears to have taken its looks from the GE U28CG. Santa Fe bought ten and owned the only U28CG diesels built in 1966.
