2013年1月7日 · the AU-D11 is quite different internally from the AU-D11 II. Both have the copper chassis, both have DD/DC topology, but the mark II version is supposed to be closer to the AU-G90X than it is to the AU-D11. I compared the D11 side by side with the 919, and they both sounded phenomenal, but different. Sonically I couldn't tell which was "better" .

I have the little brother, the AU D9 and, while waiting for a D9 service manual, I read the AU D11 manual for a general idea of what I was getting into. They are not even close. The basic adjustments for the D11 are way more complicated compared to the D9.

2020年11月1日 · IMO, the AU-D11 II is a nightmare to service if anything goes wrong. The controls are custom unobtainium that are impossible to properly substitute with anything else. The design is subject to DC and balance drift. If everything works, it's a great piece, but there are few people I'd trust to work on it if it didn't.

2011年2月22日 · I have both and have listened to them both as stock and reconditioned. My AU-D11 II was reconditioned by EW, the AU-919 by someone else. I was also able to set up a switchbox and do a blinded comparison between them first using my then 60 year old ears, then those of my boys, one of whom is an excellent musician. My favorite is the AU-919.

2025年2月18日 · The AU-D11 II uses cascoded driver stages where the voltage swing is greatest , but the cascode is deleted from the G90 and G99 (and many of the others) Some of the later ones bring the cascode back for the input differential stage which is OK but I'd sooner see it in the output section of the driver board.

2007年1月6日 · I have an AU-D11 II as well. I agree it is a great sounding amp. I'm curious abut the AU-G90X. I can't recall ever seeing one of these on eBay or anywhere else. Seems to be even more uncommon than the AU-D11 II.
