I'm in the Denon vs. Yamaha debate right now, and was leaning towards Denon. Then I saw this review of the AVR-S960H.

2020年6月4日 · AVR powers on at very low volume or 0 regardless of "Power On Level" setting (other than LAST) - Some X3700H/X4700H/X6700H owners have indicated this is an issue that presents on their AVR. Denon has acknowledged the issue and a firmware update was released on November 11th, 2020 to resolve the issue.

2021年2月25日 · IIRC, the A2 is about $100 more than the S960H and the X2700H is about $100 more than the A2. According to zkelectronics.com (I have no idea how credible their reviews are) the Denons have better video capabilities than the Yamahas and since video is 99% of what we use the receiver for, this could be an important difference.

2024年8月6日 · Very noticable next to the receiver it replaced. When I replaced the TX-NR6050 with a Denon AVR-S960H, the dynamics were back. Now 1-1/2 years later when I replaced the Denon AVR-S960H with an Onkyo TX-NR6100, I was fearful of the lost of bass dynamics again but thankfully, the NR6100 had great bass dynamics unlike the NR6050.

2024年7月5日 · I have been really happy with the DENON AVR-S960H, and when streaming movies or playing 4K discs the sound is big and immersive through all channels, including the sub. I notice when I stream Spotify - whether via Shield, Samsung QLED, Google Cast - the sound is different, for lack of a better word.

2022年5月24日 · Like I said, it appears that the AVR will only function properly with DDP5.1 w/ATMOS audio. The one video I got to work didn't sound any better than dolby surround, so I guess that this experiment is over. I really, really appreciate all you guys helping me. One last question. Are you saying I can run video/audio by plugging a USB into the AVR?
