Abuakwa State College was established by three elders of the Methodist Church at Asafo-Akyem, with the royal consent and financial backing from the then Okyenhene, Nana Sir Ofori Attah. To Educate, Train and promote a better future that can be pride on.

Admission is based on the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) results, held annually for junior high school students at various centers nationwide. Entry forms for the B.E.C.E examination are obtained from the West African Examination Council (W.A.E.C) through junior high school headteachers.

To be the best provider of middle and higher level man-power for the country where the leavers could establish their own companies. The school was the first community secondary school sponsored in the country and was later relocated at Kyebi.
