Amplatz Canine Ductal Occluder (ACDO) - Infiniti Medical
The Amplatz Canine Duct Occluder (ACDO) is a self-expanding device made from a Nitinol wire mesh and is used to close patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in dogs. A distal flat disk on the pulmonary artery side of the ductal ostium provides secure positioning in the pulmonary artery.
The Amplatz canine duct occluder: a novel device for patent …
The Amplatz canine duct occluder (ACDO) is a nitinol mesh device with a short waist that separates a flat distal disc from a cupped proximal disc. The device is designed to conform to the morphology of the canine patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). PDA dimensions are determined by angiography, and a gui …
Patent ductus arteriosus in dogs: diagnosis and interventional ...
2022年12月19日 · Occlusion of PDA can be achieved by surgical thoracotomy with extra luminal ligation or via minimally invasive techniques. Interventional occlusion of PDA using a specialised device called an Amplatz Canine Ductal Occluder or “ACDO” (Figure 3) has been well described in veterinary medicine (Gordon et al., 2010).
Transcatheter occlusion of the PDA was performed using the Amplatz® Canine Duct Occluder (ACDO) via the femoral artery. The device was placed under fluoroscopic guidance and successfully occluded the PDA. The continuous heart murmur disappeared immediately after the correction and no residual flow was detected.

2021年2月1日 · A 4-mm Canine Duct Occluder (ACDO) was successfully placed via introduction into the right jugular vein and retrograde manipulation from the pulmonary artery across the ductal opening. No residual flow was detected postoperatively, and the patient recovered uneventfully without significant complications.
Relationship between Device Size and Body Weight in Dogs with …
Background: Deployment of the Amplatz Canine Duct Occluder (ACDO) is the preferred method for minimally invasive occlusion of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in dogs, with appropriate device sizing crucial to successful closure. Dogs of any body weight can be affected by PDA.
