ADA4898-1 in i/v optimum power supply - diyAudio
2019年3月30日 · Looking through the ada4898 datasheet i've seen that +-5v is kind of the limit where you should stop, but i just want the best operation. Making the supply +-9v looks a bit better on the overdrive side, but not so good about the thermal regime.

The ADA4898-1 is interesting but I haven't managed to try it yet. The AD8599 was recently added in that big "opamp measurement shootout" and its distortion was disappointingly high (significantly worse than an OPA2132 for instance). BTW the LT1028 absolutely blows the OPA827 out of the water for sound quality in simple DAC buffering.

2023年6月8日 · I had previously taken data of ADA4898, but because it was measured by FFT that emphasized the 100dB distortion rate, 40kHz was regarded as the fundamental wave and THD could not be measured. So I switched the jumper pin mentioned in post #33 to the 30kΩ side and remeasured as 80dB emphasis. ADA4898-1 Cyan is 5V/div, yellow waveform is 100 µ/div.

2023年1月19日 · Buy and try several. Be sure to include the AD746, the OPA2209, and the ADA4898-2 (mounted on SOIC-to-DIP adapters) in your rotation. And of course the OPA1612. I ran a double blind listening test of dual opamps a couple years ago and the grandfatherly old LF412 was shockingly highly rated. Since it's so inexpensive, give it a shot.

Hi, Thanks for recommending trying the ada4898. I have a pcm1796 dac with dip sockets. I tried various op amps. all seemed much of a muchness. soldered some ada4898-2 onto adapters with heat pad, and then soldered through hole in heat pad , from below, to ensure thermal contact with op amp. At 15 volts these got insanely hot.

2017年6月14日 · The ADA4898 in the I/V position (e.g. U27B/U28A) may be a little noiser than the OPA164x, but it *is* a lower distortion/faster part, which is good to have there. You're stuck if you want the output voltage you have, but if you're already aggressively using the volume control, it might benefit from lowering R152/R151 and lowering the I/V gain ...
