Breviceps fuscus, also known as black rain frog, [1] [2] [3] [4] plain rain frog, [2] [4] [5] brown short-headed frog, [2] [4] and Tsitsikamma rainfrog, [6] is a species of frogs in the family Brevicipitidae. It is endemic to the southern coast of South Africa. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Black rain frogs are found in only one country on Earth, South Africa – and only across a very specific habitat in the Cape Fold Belt. They are commonly found at altitudes much higher than 1,000m and tolerate relatively cold and wet seasons as well as surviving through much warmer, drier conditions.
