2006年10月2日 · Limited cabins available on this sailing. Choices are BA 10132,which is the last BA in the starboard row going aft, or a BB 10662 which is the last cabin in the row on the port side aft. I'm thinking the BB cabin may be more private because it only has a neighbor on one side. We're sailing too soon to snag an aft facing cabin.

2007年10月11日 · The word starboard comes from "Steering board". A long time ago, the rudder for steering a ship was mounted on the right side, rather than in the middle (amidships). This forced them to dock with the left side of the ship tied to the dock, or the port. So, the left side became the "side to port", keeping the stearing board from being damaged.

2012年8月7日 · But we don't like the aft balcony cabins as we do not wish to see where we have been. We like port side where we can watch as we approach the port and as we leave the port. Most times the ships do dock with the port side facing inland. And most times the port side of the ship faces the glaciers longer than the starboard side.

2014年9月7日 · I seem to recall the best views coming into Maui were Port side. If you look at the map of the itinerary, it looks like the Port side is facing land for much of the trip. When we left the Big Island of Hawaii, there was a wonderful view of Hawaii and the mountains from the aft of the ship for a long time.

2010年4月27日 · Aft probably has better views than a side - watching the locks. If you are booking the Star, the new rooms of the former Spinnaker lounge would have a great climate controlled forward view (through a window). Interior space with a view is a hot commodity in the canal. Spending the entire day outside is not recommended due to heat and humidity.

2016年1月26日 · We did a second cruise (also with NCL) and had an upper, port side, forward balcony. The view was much more restricted. Both were September cruises. One was the next to last of the season and the second was a re-positioning cruise. The side balcony required jackets/coats at all times. From the aft we watched the bay in t-shirts and shorts.
