It has a “wire” side-folding stock, a muzzle brake similar in appearance to the typical AK-74 (but not interchangeable), a handguard with a vertical grip, an “upturned” bolt handle (which allows easier access when the stock is folded), and some other small differences.

The AIMS 74 rifle has several unique features that make it easily identifiable. Probably the most noticeable variance is the angle of the charging handle. It is angled upward or as many call it "upswept". The next most noticeable variance would be the gas block and the barrel profile.
