Taught man that which he knew not. No! [But] indeed, man transgresses. Because he sees himself self-sufficient. Indeed, to your Lord is the return. A servant when he prays? Or enjoins righteousness? Does he not know that Allah sees? No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - A lying, sinning forelock.

READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 2. Created man from an embryo; 3. Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 4. Who taught by the pen, 5. Taught man what he did not know. 6. And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 7. For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 8. Surely your returning is to your Lord. 9. Have you seen him who restrains. 10.

(1) Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created— (2) created humans from a clinging clot. (3) Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous,

عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ. 6. كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ. 7. أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ. 8. إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ. 9. أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ. 10. عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ. 11. أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ. 12. أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَىٰ. 13. أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ. 14.
