Diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis. What can I expect?
2016年3月13日 · My main symptoms was : severe intrahepatic cholestatic jaundice, shortness of breath, my liver was 5 times the normal size. Just prior to my chemo treatments, my liver presented signs of failure. Liver biopsy and a great pathologist who suspected amyloidosis has led to my diagnostic of amyloidosis AL with severe hepatic dysfunction.
Just diagnoised with Amyloidosis, kappa light chain restricted.

My husband, 55, was recently diagnosed with both AL light chain (lambda) amyloidosis and acquired von Willebrand Syndrome (AvWS). He is finishing cycle 5 of the DaraCyborD chemotherapy regimen, but has not had a complete response. (He is somewhere between Partial Response and Very Good Partial Response.)

2024年7月17日 · Hi @suebridges123.From my understanding, Al Amyloidosis is caused by a bone marrow disorder. In AL patients, some plasma cells in the bone marrow produce an abnormal antibody (immunoglobulin) protein which can collect in various organs in the body, causing damage to the tissue.
